Genetic Screening Includes:
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM): DNA testing and annual echocardiograms to detect this common heart condition.
- Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA): DNA test identifying carriers of muscle-weakness disorders.
- Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef): DNA screen preventing hereditary anemia.
- Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD): Genetic test confirming clear kidneys and renal health.
Infectious & General Health Screening:
- FeLV & FIV: All cats are tested negative for Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.
- Parasite Testing: Routine fecal tests confirm our cats are parasite-free.
- Physical Health: Cats must show strong bone structure, healthy coats, and sound temperaments before breeding.
All our breeding Maine Coon cats are tested and cleared for all known hereditary conditions and infectious-disease affecting the breed.
