A Breed That Takes Time to Grow
Maine Coons are a slow-maturing breed and can take four to five years to reach full maturity.
Mature males commonly reach the mid-teens to 22 pounds or more, while females are often around 9 to 15 pounds. Overall health and condition matter more than reaching a particular number on the scale.
Their personalities continue to develop too, making the years from kittenhood to adulthood part of the experience of living with a Maine Coon.
